L’Arche sign up for Sugar Bond HQ

Highcross Strategic Advisors has secured international charity, L’Arche as the latest tenant within its 17,663 sq ft Sugar Bond development in Leith, Edinburgh.

The move to Sugar Bond provides L’Arche with 2,500 sq ft of modern office accommodation and will serve as the charity’s new Edinburgh headquarters. A 10-year FRI lease with a break at year five was agreed.

L’Arche operates in 30 countries and is dedicated to creating communities which welcome people with a learning disability and those who live with or support them. 

Iain Taylor of joint letting agent Ryden noted that the firm received interest from L’Arche following Highcross’s decision to reduce the quoting rental to only £7.50 per sq ft. He added: “It’s an excellent move for L’Arche. The charity was able to take advantage of unprecedented market conditions to secure modern, DDA compliant premises which previously would have been considered too expensive.  Highcross’s flexible approach in providing a lease package that worked for L’Arche, as well as undertaking their fit-out and effectively delivering a bespoke suite tailored to their needs, were all key to securing this deal.”

The Sugar Bond is one of two redeveloped former bonded warehouse buildings owned by Highcross.  The second, also located in Leith, is Bonnigton Bond.
